ATARC’s Emerging Technology Pandemic 2020 virtual conference convened government and industry on June 11, 2020 to examine how agencies were turning to emerging technology in response to COVID-19. The Cloud and Infrastructure (Track 2) sessions covered cloud security, the importance of a single source of data truth in a crisis, and the ongoing challenges of cloud migration.
Adam Grandt, Director of the Infrastructure Optimization Center of Excellence at the General Services Administration, joined the Cloud Panel on Migration. The panel discussed how cloud migration remains a hurdle for government adopters even after advances such as Cloud Smart, what cloud services are available during migration and sustainment, and whether a gap exists in commercially provided cloud features for migration assistance.
