Moving beyond the original Cloud First policy, the Cloud Smart approach gives federal agencies room to reconsider their processes and workloads, capturing both workflow and cost benefits from cloud. Experience in government has shown that cloud is less a hosting decision than a way to build the dynamic workflows that underpin digital transformation.
Using real-world implementations, the webinar looked at how a platform approach helps agencies move into the cloud by digitizing manual processes to improve the experience for employees and citizens, surfacing new visibility across the agency without reengineering legacy systems, and adopting new technologies and security practices. Speakers also took up the harder side of the transition: introducing workflow changes and refreshing workforce skills.
